This fully remediated site was designed and built by Certus, to host a variety of tenants with an emphasis on local. The iconic spider (a Volkswagen Beetle) was originally located on the corner of 14th Street and 29th Avenue at the Mechanic Shop. When Certus purchased the Mechanic Shop lands for redevelopment, the beloved spider was repainted, and moved to the rooftop above Starbuck’s Coffee, remaining in the neighbourhood, much to the delight of area residents.

We’re always interested in doing a creative project in collaboration with our tenants, something that’s unique and inventive and adds to the city and local culture. So, it was a pleasure to work with owner, Brett McDermott to create his new pizza concept, Actually Pretty Good. This new pizza restaurant adds to McDermott’s range of good, honest, food options across the city including Our Daily Brett and Neighbour.
